  • From the daughter in england on you actually like organ music?

I like the sound of the pipe organ.
I also like the sound of bagpipes – does this mean my opinion doesn’t count? 😉

  • From jupiterj on you actually like organ music?

Not at all. I speak in generalities and so was the author of the article in question (who by the way is British). If you looked at the article you notice that he identifies a public that listens to classical music in Great Britain. My guess is that public is more active there than here. I tend to run into people’s random tastes via playing weddings and funerals. I try to take into account that the piano is a bit more familiar to people and might be a good choice for music when they are grieving or getting hitched. And of course your opinion is very important to me. You’re my daughter!

It was good to see family that I don’t normally get to see too! We always look forward to seeing you & Eileen. It is one of the high points of the Hatch Family Reunion.

  • From Sarah on archaic and harmless

Sorry if I made you sad… I get kinda traumatised by saying goodbye… I’ve done ok, though, not as depressed as I usually get after returning home, but for about 24 hours I was pretty unhappy.

and apologies for not getting on the website stuff yet – will try to get to it in the coming days.

    love you!

    • From jupiterj on archaic and harmless

  • From Rhonda on archaic and harmless

A little behind here, but wanted to let you know I really liked Archaic, the poem. And the link about photo albums. I just this month printed out a stack of photos from Germany and put them in an old album I found lying around, and realized I hadn’t done such a thing since 2004. Crazy. But I wanted to be able to see the places again, and show them easily to the kids. Tangible beats screens every time for me…

Thanks for reading my blog. Glad you liked that poem.

Wow, Steve. I’m not sure I understood this completely but it resonates.

Sorry to miss C Eve at Grace HOlland, but I was at Grace Cathedral in San
Fran and it is always so powerful to be with so many and in a magnificent space plus all the smoke, bells and whistles.

  • From Rhonda on quick epiphany post

Are you freaking kidding me? You found Carols for Choirs 1 (and 8 copies, at that) at Bibles for Mexico for 50 cents a piece?? I am so jealous. What a find. Do you go often, or was this just a lucky strike? Did the books have a church name stamped in them?

  • From jupiterj on quick epiphany post

The books are stamped “Zeeland Christian School, Music Department.” I go once in a while, but I always check for used music. It’s surprising what I sometimes find. One of the sopranos in my choir asked to buy one from me, but I just gave her a copy. Lots of good solid stuff in those books.
